At Caribbean Pools, we are dedicated to helping our clients find the right product or service to maintain their pool. A pool is an investment-worthy of your time and care. One of the essential products every pool owner should have is a pool cover. You may not think about it, but a pool cover plays an important role in protecting your pool— and can even help save energy. Here’s what you need to know about pool covers and how our team can help you find the right product for your pool.

The Importance of Pool Covers

Pools lose energy through evaporation. Water evaporates from your pool, lowering your water levels and subsequently impacting your pool’s pH balance and concentration of cleaning materials. Without a cover, your pool’s water levels would need to be refilled time and time again, leading to costly water bills and stress on your part. A functional pool cover will save your time and energy by mitigating evaporation and keeping debris out of your pool. In fact, using a pool cover is the single most effective way to cut over half of your pool’s heating costs.

What to Consider When Selecting a Pool Cover

Caribbean Pools provides a rich variety of pool liners. We sell two of the most dependable brands, Coverstar and Rayner, both of which supply some of the highest quality pool covers in the market.

Even though choosing a pool cover may sound simple, there are several things you should consider. You need something sturdy that is tear-resistant and covers the entire pool’s surface. Your best bet is to choose a cover that’s specifically made for pools. An ideal pool cover has the following qualities:

  • UV Resistant. An outdoor pool means your pool cover will be subject to continuous UV exposure. To prevent fading and damage, your pool cover should be made of UV resistant material that mitigates the harmful effects of the sun’s rays.
  • Vinyl. Vinyl is an excellent material for pool covers since it’s durable and has a long life expectancy. Vinyl covers are typically made of a heavier material that is resistant to wind and provides 24/7 protection. Some vinyl covers contain insulation between the layers for additional energy conservation.
  • Manual or Automatic. Pool covers are available in manual, semi-automatic, and automatic varieties. For instance, a manual pool cover requires you to remove and fold it on your own. Semi-automatic and automatic pool covers are built to make removal easier. They use electrical power to roll up.

Choosing the right pool cover is a matter of speaking with an experienced contractor who can help you find what you are looking for. Our team at Caribbean Pools has been in the pool industry for over 40 years, making us a dependable team whenever you have a question. We can help you decide the type of pool cover you need based on your budget and preferences.
